Bishop Linwood Nesbitt
Bishop Linwood Nesbitt is the Senior Pastor and overseer of the New Covenant Holiness Church located on Dawson Street, Wilmington, NC. He has preached and taught the gospel of Jesus Christ to his NCHC family for past 20 years. The great people of New Covenant appointed him to this post after the passing of his father who was pastor of NCHC prior to his tenure. He immediately sought the Lord on the future of this growing congregation, and the Lord gave him the vision to build a new sanctuary. The doors of this new church opened on April 29, 2001 with much praise, and worship, and with all the glory going to God! This was only the first vision that came to pass in the year 2001. On August 25, 2001, Pastor Linwood Nesbitt was consecrated to the prestigious position of Bishop. Bishop Nesbitt has always had a heart to win souls to the kingdom of heaven. He believes in the great commission that he is to go into the entire world and preach the gospel, so he goes where the Lord sends him to preach the news of Jesus Christ. This hunger to expand the kingdom of God has taken him from the streets of Wilmington, NC to teach and minister as far away as Jamaica, the Ivory Coast. And Liberia. Bishop Nesbitt's work in foreign ministry is extensive and is making a direct impact in lifting up the name of Christ. He sends monthly donations and goods to many missions and supports the missionaries in the mission field who desperately depend on his patronage. New Covenant also provides financial support to two orphanages: one in Jamaica and the other in Liberia. These orphanages provide care, shelter, and food to many needy children. Bishop Nesbitt also supports a school in Liberia, educating our future Christian leaders. Bishop Nesbitt wrote his first book: I want What God Wants: The Anointing Is a Seldom Traveled Road to Wealth Which came out in the summer of 2007. So, he is now an author and writer, adding to the many gifts that God has blessed him with. Bishop Linwood Nesbitt has earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry from the International Bible College and Seminary. He also has a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Covenant Christian College. Bishop Nesbitt has his Masters of Arts in Christian Education from Word of Faith Christian College. His most recent educational achievement is his Doctorate of Ministry in Theological Studies from Word of Faith Christian College & Graduate School. Bishop Nesbitt established and presides over an alliance over 102 churches under the umbrella of Covenant Christian Faith International Fellowship. The Alliance started with (3) founding churches and has grown under the direction of Bishop Nesbitt to 102 churches in the US, Caribbean Islands, Liberia, and the Ivory Coast. This fellowship also provides support for its Pastors and their members, and all fellowship churches world wide that are in need of the CCFIF and its services. Bishop Nesbitt has been the prelate of these great churches for the past 10 years. Bishop Nesbitt is also the Vice President of the Greater Harvest International Fellowship, Inc., which has its headquarters in Raleigh, NC. He has also serves as a Vice President to the Bishop in West Africa. Most recently, since April 2007, Bishop Nesbitt has been an active Emergency Services Chaplain. He also is the founder and President of Covenant Christian College, and accredited Bible College where students may earn their Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies. He is the founder and CEO of CCEDI, Inc. a faith based nonprofit community services organization that does many wonderful works in the city of Wilmington. Bishop Nesbitt is also a part of the COGIC family; serving under Bishop C.E. Anderson and the North Carolina 2nd Jurisdiction of the COGIC. More important to Bishop Nesbitt, than any other post, is his role as husband and father. He has been married to Pastor Eria Nesbitt for the past 33 years. God has blessed this beautiful union with two daughters, Regina (Andrew) granddaughter Daijah, and Natalie (CJ) .
